Popular weather app, CARROT Weather is updated with support for Live Activities in Dynamic Island on iPhone 14 Pro and on the Lock Screen on compatible iPhones.
Apple recently released iOS 16.1 to the public which includes several new features like Live Activities from third-party apps in the Dynamic Island and Lock Screen of iPhone 14 Pro models, iCloud Shared Photo Library, Fitness+ on iPhone, and much more.
For Premium members, CARROT Weather offers Live Activities in Dynamic Island and Lock Screen
The CARROT Weather app makes weather updates fun by delivering weather forecasts with a sense of humor. Users a personality for CARROT weather robot to give weather reports in straitlaced “professional” or profanity-laden “overkill” styles.
With a premium subscription, the app offers additional perks like weather data from more sources like Apple Weather, Dark Sky, AccuWeather, and Tomorrow.io, notifications for precipitation, weather alerts, and lightning strikes (where available), Lock Screen and Home Screen widgets, Apple Watch complications and background updates and more.
Now the app has added support for Live Activities in Dynamic Island and on Lock Screen. The release notes read:
It’s nearly Halloween, meatbags! And while you’ve been busy eating most of the candy you’re supposed to put out for trick or treaters, I’ve been hard at work adding Live Activity support to your favorite weather app. If you open me up when rain is expected to start in the next hour, then my Live Activity will let you track the storm’s approach from the Dynamic Island (on the iPhone 14 Pro) and the Lock Screen. Premium membership required.
On iOS 16.1, owners of compatible iPhones can start a Live Activity for an app to receive updates in real-time on the Lock Screen, and on iPhone 14 Pro models, the Live Activity continues in the Dynamic Island for up to 60 minutes.
Download the CARROT Weather app from App Store. It is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch and requires iOS 13.0 or later. However, Live Activities requires iOS 16.1 or newer.
