iOS 16 has introduced Live Activities as part of the new Lock Screen for users can start updates from an app in real-time like food delivery, ride-hail, sports events, and others.
Developer Parker Ortolani has created the concept watchOS 10 that imagines Live Activities, redesigned Home Screen, Rest mode, Keychain app, and more for the Apple Watch.
Concept watchOS 10 imagines a customizable Home Screen, new apps, and more
watchOS 9 brings new watch faces, international roaming, Low Power mode, and improvements to Compass, Fitness, Sleep, AFib, workout apps, and more. However, for some users, it might not be enough. In comparison to iOS 16, the latest watchOS 9 update does not include major changes to the way how users interact with their Apple Watches.
Ortolani’s concept watchOS 10 brings exciting features to Apple Watch that imagines a new way for users to interact with the smartwatch and a few exclusive features for Apple Watch Ultra.
- Live Activities on Apple Watch in three new interfaces:
- Siri Watch face displays live activities in custom cards to show updates in real-time throughout the day.
-
- Metallic Watch faces have analog clock face with no complications and are available in green, hazel, and blue finishes. The new faces change colors with users’ movements and store Live Activities below the clock for users to easily access them via a simple swipe.
-
- Sports app, integrated with the watch face, keeps users up-to-date with game scores in real-time and shows info on various teams and more at a glance.
- Rest Mode disables stand notifications and pauses Activity tracking to give users respite to recover from a workout or active streak.
- Keychain app brings users’ passwords and two-factor authentication codes of their favorite websites and accounts to the Apple Watch for them to log in via their smartwatch.
- Customizable Home Screen allows users to organize apps as per their preference in the Home Screen list view, add shortcuts and create folders.
Concept watchOS 10 for Apple Watch Ultra imagines additional features for outdoor activities and web browsing.
- Explore App enables users to search for the best trails, cool spots, and more. It also includes a new interface that displays the user’s path on the map along with the compass for them to track it in real-time.
- Safari takes advantage of the larger display of the Apple Watch Ultra to offer a new browsing experience. It lets users surf the web, access favorite sites, and more directly from their wrist.
In addition to concept watchOS 10, the latest features on iOS 16 and iPhone 14 Pro have inspired other innovative concepts as well like iPhone 14 Pro Dynamic Island game “Hit The Island”, and Dynamic Island for iPad Pro.
