Notchmeister is a new app by The Icon Factory which adds some fun effects to the notch on Apple’s new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models. For those unfortunate users who do not have a notch on their MacBook, the app also adds a fake notch so that users can participate in the fun.

The Icon Factory are the developers behind popular apps like Twitterrific, and know the Mac platform very well. Notchmeister, their newest free app, is a light-hearted companion for the notch on new MacBook Pro models. All it does is add some fun effects to the notch which work when you move the mouse close to it or under it.
Some of these effects include a glowing cursor, a plasma leak, and our favorite: festive, which adds lights that move with your mouse cursor. The Nano Radar is also a fun-filled one that provides an X-ray of where your mouse cursor is under the notch.
Here are all the effects as per the app’s release notes:

For Macs that do not ship with a notch, Notchmeister adds a fake “genuine replacement notch”, which lets you enjoy the effects. The notch only appears when the app is active so that it does not interfere with any other apps that you might be using.
