Deezer music service launches in the US

The popular French music streaming app, Deezer is now available in the US. Users can subscribe to Deezer for $10/month to listen to a library of over 40 million songs on their iOS devices.

Deezer brings a music library with over 40 million songs and premium radio stations. Users can personalize playlists by making flows for songs for different occasions, and moods. The iOS app also supports offline functionality, which lets users download songs when connected to the Internet and listen to them anywhere and anytime. Deezer also offers high definition audio with an Elite subscription which is only available on Sonos systems for $20 per month.

Deezer’s iOS app was recently updated to 6.6.0. The latest version has a ‘swipe right on homepage’ feature for song recommendations. There are more channels to find different genres of music, news, and podcasts. While listening to your favorite radio stations live, users can add songs to your favorites list by their instant track id. Users can also search radio stations by Channel.

Deezer’s ad-free music streaming service will face competition from similar service providers like Apple Music, Spotify, Google Play Music, Microsoft Groove and more. Only time will tell how Deezer will hold up in the US market and attract subscribers to joins its current 6 million users worldwide (180+ countries!), compared to Spotify’s 30 million and Apple Music’s 13 million. Both Spotify and Apple Music are huge competitors in United States.

Deezer’s app is available in the Apple Store for free. There is a 30-days free trail and the subscription costs $10 per month. You can make in-app purchases starting from $2.99 to $12.99. The app requires at least iOS 7.0 and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Apple Watch.
