Doppler for iPhone has received a major update. For the first time since its launch in 2020, Doppler for iPhone has launched a paid upgrade called Doppler 3 which includes a new Album Collection, Library customization, and more.
Doppler for iPhone and Mac is a popular music player for iOS and macOS that supports many file formats like FLAC, MP3, AAC, WAV, and others, it allows users to import music from existing albums from Safari, Dropbox, Google Drive, and more, supports offline listening, even edit the songs or albums’ artwork and more. It also supports Airplay 2, CarPlay, AirPods, and HomePod.

The new paid upgrade of Doppler for iPhone is optional for all existing customers and users who purchased a Doppler subscription from December 1, 2022, will be upgraded to the latest version for free.

Album Collections
Doppler 3 brings four album Collections for users to easily create lists to find music quickly and organize their libraries:
- Recently Added
- Compilations
- Released This Year
- Released Last Year
Users can also pin a Collection of the top of the app’s UI on iOS and CarPlay.
Queue grouping option adds Shuffle by Album
New Doppler for iPhone brings two new modes for playback queue:
- “No Grouping” mode where songs are added to the queue individually
- “Group by Album/Playlist” mode, which will group songs by their album or playlist
The Group by Album/Playlist mode introduced the Shuffle by Album feature from iTunes. It allows user to shuffle their library by albums or playlists instead of song-by-song.
Customise library
Users can customize the Library screen in three new ways:
- Pin a collection to the top of the screen
- Set the main list to either Albums, Artists or Songs
- Hide, show, and rearrange the different options for browsing the library
Support for compilation albums
Users can mark edited album information or artwork to show them in the Compilations” collection, and track artist names will always be shown in the artist list.
Design improvements
Doppler 3 introduces a simplified tab bar with new icons, improved Search/Filter inputs, and a design for albums with multiple discs.
