Apple is expected to release the new flagship iPhone 12 series later this year and every week we are updated with reports on possible delays and opposing news that the upcoming smartphone series is on track. To add to the pool of iPhone manufacturer leaks, mysmartprice discovered 9 smartphone models and a personal computer listed by Apple in the EEC filings.
As Apple is expected to release four new models of the new flagship smartphone series and the model number in the listing is not of any existing iPhones, it is presumed that the listed devices are iPhone 12 models. A few days ago, it was also reported that Apple is working on the new ARM- Mac expected to release as early as June 22 WWDC online event.
EEC Filings by Apple
EEC date of publication of the notification, for both smartphone and personal computer, is June 11, 2020. That means that Apple is moving ahead with the release procedure of the new products expected this year. The filing reveals 9 new smartphone models numbers (in chronological order):
- A2176
- A2172
- A2341
- A2341
- A2399
- A2403
- A2407
- A2408
- A2411
The document states that all devices have iOS 13 support, however, it is unclear that the filed model numbers represent which variants of the iPhone 12 series: 5.4 inch- iPhone 12, 6.1- inch iPhone 12 Max, 6.1 inch- iPhone 12 Pro and 6.7 inch- iPhone 12 Pro Max. It must be noted that all information regarding the new flagship smartphone line-up is based on leaks, reports and CAD designs.
Although the company has not officially given a statement on possible delays of new products, reports from manufacturing partner, supply chain sources and tech analysts claim that the delay is imminent due to COVID-19 production hurdles. When it comes to Cupertino tech giant, we never know what the company might do or not do. In April, it released its mid-range iPhone SE 2020 with iPhone 8 and iPhone 11 features for an incredible low price of $399.
New iMac
The publication also discovered a new personal computer in EEC filings by Apple. With model number A2330, the Mac runs on macOS 10.15. As per latest industry rumors, Cupertino HQ is expected to launch a new 2020 iMac with own T2 chip, AMD Navi GPU and iPad Pro like design. It is expected that new iMac would be released at the annual WWDC on June 22, which is predominantly a software centered event. Bloomberg reports that Apple will also announce the transition of Mac to ARM chips at the same event.
