The Package:

Like any high-end product, the case comes in a decent box. When opened, you get the Gasket iPhone 4 case with a bunch of goodies nicely packaged in a black envelope, much like the one you get with Apple’s own line of products. Inside the envelope, you get 2 high-quality quad-layer clear protective films (front and back), a squeegee for bubble-free film application and a microfiber cleaning cloth. You also get a manual with installation instructions.

It is interesting to note here that the case is compatible with both AT&T (GSM) as well as Verizon (CDMA) models which are clearly advertised at the back of the box.

Quality & Protection

As the name implies, the case is actually made with high grade brushed aluminum which looks totally awesome. The design is quite unique, inspired by the shape of a head gasket on an automobile engine. The one piece brushed aluminum body is slim & stylish adding minimal bulk to the handset when put on. The texture is simply eye catching.

The inside of the case is lined with suede which protects the iPhone 4 from minor bumps and scratches. The side also has an engraved id America logo on it which gives it a pretty nice touch.

Installation is pretty much as simple as any other snap-on case. The case fits snugly onto the iPhone 4 with comfortable access to all the buttons and ports. The back of the case is nicely aligned to reveal the shiny Apple logo. We tried the case on both black and white iPhone 4’s and it looked stunningly beautiful on either of them (see the photo gallery at the end). One little annoyance we did notice after using it for a couple of days is the slightly sharp edges at the bottom of the case. Other than that, we faced no issues what so ever with the case’s functionality.

Lastly, the case provides moderate protection to the iPhone 4’s back and sides against drops, though the front is left exposed like any other snap-on case. The front and back protective films are of pretty good quality and should be more than enough to protect against minor scratches.
