Gmail April Fool’s Prank Brought To Life Using Kinect!! [Video]

If there’s one thing about the Kinect that we love here at iTD, it’s the creative uses people find for it. Ever since the Kinect was hacked, the ideas and uses for it just keep coming. Yesterday, Google posted a video demonstrating Gmail gestures interpreted by your computer’s webcam. While this was an April Fool’s joke, the team that created FAAST (a Kinect hack that works with World of Warcraft) has now released a new program called SLOOW. This program uses the Kinect to make the Gmail gestures possible. You can see both the Gmail prank and SLOOW in action below.

  1. I think Google has a lot of new ideas and techniques for effective marketing of their products and in these circumstances when Google is launching new features in its products one could expect this April Fool Day prank to be intentional for getting more media coverage
