Google has sent out invitations for an Android event to be held in New York City on October 29th at 10AM. Though the invitations do not reveal any information about what Google has to show off but since it is an Android event, the search engine giant is expected to announce a new Nexus smartphone and the next version of Android, version 4.2
Android 4.2 is rumored to ship with many new features making it a giant update. Earlier this month, we covered many rumored features of Android 4.2 in detail, including customization center, improved Google Now, Project Roadrunner for improved battery life, Google Play updates, and a completely revamped video player.
As for the LG Nexus smartphone, we have been hearing rumors about it for a long time. Packed with a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, 4.7-inch screen with 1280 x 768 resolution , 2GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, the Optimus G inspired, LG Nexus smartphone might be unveiled at the event. Earlier last week, we saw leaked photos of LG Nexus smartphone with sources claiming that it will be unveiled on October 29th. So we are very much sure that it’s the same event scheduled for the launch of LG Nexus.
Apart from that it, is expected that Google may unveil the 32GB and 64GB model of its famous Nexus 7 tablet and will drop 8GB model’s price to $99 while the HTC Nexus mini-tablet and Nexus 10 (10-inch ) tablet made by Samsung are also rumored to be launched in the same event.
Google’s Android event will follow Microsoft’s Windows 8 launch event and Apple’s event where the so-called iPad mini will be unveiled. It is interesting to note that the Google event coincides with Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 launch event which would also be held on 29th October.
