Google Bard chatbot can now find answers from Gmail, Docs, Drive and more

Google Bard now uses Google Search and other products to access and analyze information from different sources including the real world. With this new ability, Bard can give more detailed and informative answers to inquiries, even if they’re challenging or unusual.

Google Bard is a large language model chatbot developed by Google AI, trained on a massive dataset of text and code. It can generate text, translate languages, write different kinds of creative content, and answer your questions in an informative way.

Google Bard also gets a new “Google It” button that allows users to double-check Bard’s answers

The new integration of Bard with Google apps, allows the chabot to access information from users’ Gmail, Docs, Drive, Maps, YouTube, Google Flights, and hotel accounts. This can save you a lot of time and effort, especially if you have a lot of information stored in your Google accounts.

With the new integration, users can do a variety of things like the following:

• Get more comprehensive and informative answers to their questions: For example, if a user asks Bard to write a blog post about a new scientific discovery, Bard can access information from Google Search, Google Scholar, and other relevant websites. It can also access the user’s Google Docs and Drive to see if they have any saved research materials on the topic. Bard can then synthesize all of this information and write a well-informed blog post that is tailored to the user’s audience.
• Save time and effort on tasks such as research, writing, and analysis: For example, if a user is working on a report, Bard can help them gather information from a variety of sources, such as industry reports, news articles, and social media. This can save the user a lot of time and effort.
• Find all of your flights and hotels: For example, Bard can find all of your flights and hotel reservations from Gmail.
• Create a Google Map itinerary for your trip: For example, Bard can create a Google Map itinerary for your trip, including directions to and from the airport, your hotel, and the places you want to visit.

Google Bard also offers a toggle switch in the new Extensions feature that allows users to turn on or off the ability for extensions to run in Bard. This means that users can choose to use extensions or not, depending on their needs.

Google has stated that it will not use personal data to train Bard’s public model or share it with human reviewers. However, it is important to note that Google’s privacy policy allows the company to collect and use personal data for a variety of purposes, including targeted advertising and product development.
