Google Maps has received an update for iPhone along with an app for Apple Watch. Other changes include easy ETA comparison for different travel modes, ability to call businesses and get directions from list of places and unknown bug fixes.
This is Google’s second app update which supports Apple Watch, the first being Google News & Weather app. The Apple Watch app provides quick access to directions to home and work and also shows recent places. If you have navigation started on your iPhone Google Maps app, the route is also shown in the app, although it does not show a map view. The travel mode can be switched via Force Touch.
You cannot start navigation from the Watch or find any new places. The app also does not support complications or glances so it is very limited in what it can do. Other than that, the app is fast and responsive.
