Here is everything new on updated Google Maps for iOS and Android
Previously, Google Maps for iOS introduced features like finding EV charging stations, Live Views in more countries, and more. Now, these are expanded to Android in addition to new features on iOS like Glanceable Directions. Here is everything new on the updated Goole Maps on iOS and Android.
- Glanceable directions while navigating will allow users to track their journey easily on the lock screen on Android devices and Live Activities on iOS. The feature will release in the coming months.
- Using advanced AI (artificial intelligence) techniques, Immersive view offers a rich digital model of the world so that users can explore a place virtually before visiting it. It also displays information like traffic, weather, and how crowded a place is. Currently, the new feature is available in London, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, and Tokyo and will launch in Amsterdam, Dublin, Florence, Venice, and other cities in the coming months.
- Live View feature is powered by AI and AR to allow users to explore indoor and outdoor places like airports, streets, malls, restaurants, parks, and more through the camera lens of the smartphone. Simply by lifting the phone while on a street, Live View provides helpful details like “when a place is open, if it’s busy right now, and how highly it’s rated – so you can make an informed decision and maximize your time.” It is available in London, Los Angeles, New York, Paris, San Francisco and Tokyo and will expand to Barcelona, Dublin and Madrid in the coming months.
- The updated Google Maps lets users easily add and find charging stations for EVs, including very fast charging stations.
