Google is going to launch a Google Nest Wifi Pro router with Wi-Fi 6E and a speaker which will retail for $199.99 as a single unit. This information has been leaked ahead of its launch in October.
Firstly, Google’s upcoming router was found on the FCC listings over a month ago and now it has appeared on B&H, an online store to purchase cameras, computers, TV sets, drones, speakers, and other tech equipment.
Google’s new Wi-Fi 6E router will be available in packs of 2 and 3 units
As per the listing on B&H, the name of the new router will be “Google Nest Wi-Fi Pro” with Wi-Fi 6E. The current Google Nest Wi-Fi Router supports Wi-Fi 5.
It will be available in four colors: Linen (light brown), Snow (white), Lemongrass (light yellow/green), and Fog (light blue). A single unit will cost $199.99, a pack of 2 will cost $299.99 and a pack of 3 will cost $399.99.
However, there is no information on the router’s physical design because the listing does not include an image. 9to5Google highlighted that the listings mention network extender and Google Assitant speaker support and believed that the new router will be the return of “just one device.”
This is a return to the Google Wifi model of offering just one device. The price difference with this single-hardware approach is not that much as a Nest Wifi router and point bundle today ($269), while adding another point brings you to $349. In return, every unit has an Ethernet jack.
The “Pro” naming scheme implies that the existing Nest Wifi will stick around, and follows the Pixel 6 and 7 Pro, as well as Pixel Buds Pro.
The tech company has announced its new “Made by Google” event will be held on October 6 and the new router is expected to launch at the event along with Pixel 7/ Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel Watch. The router is available on B&H for pre-order.
