Google Search on the desktop has been updated with continuous scrolling. Users in the United States can browse through the search engine’s results without clicking on the next page option.
The tech giant introduced continuous scrolling for Google Search on mobile in October last year. The feature makes search easier and faster, however, it does not infinite scroll.
New Google Search continuous scrolling shows six pages of results
As per the announcement, the new continuous scrolling for Google Search on desktop will show up to six pages of results when users will reach the bottom of the the first search result page. This way, users will see more search results easily.
The new Google Search experience mirrors the latest design now offered on social media feeds to continuously load content as users scroll down a page on mobile and web. The removal of the requirement to tap or click to see more results save time and make searching quicker.

The Verge speculates that the new change has the potential to make it less important for a website to be on the first page of Google Search results but this will not happen because there is a huge drop in clicks between the first couple of results and the rest of the first page.
Previously, Google also said that “most people who want additional information” will typically “browse up to four pages of search results.” Thus, the race to be the first site on the page is likely to be just as intense as ever.”
The feature only supports English and is available in the United States currently. However, based on the same change released on mobile, The Verge expects the company to release support for more language and expand it to more regions in over time.
Recently, Google also updated Pixel series devices with new safer web browsing through a VPN provided by Google One, clearer phone calls, new unified security, privacy settings, and more. It also introduced support for Apple Car Keys on Pixel smartphones running on Android 12.
