greenpois0n RC5 ( and RC5_2 ) was released yesterday to Mac OS X users. It is an untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.2.1, which means that you don’t have to re-jailbreak your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch every time you restart it. A lot of users have been complaining to us as to why it’s available for OS X users only – well we don’t have an answer for that but what we know is that the Windows version is in the works and should be released in a couple of days.
p0sixninja, member of the Chronic Dev Team, tweeted earlier that the Windows version should be out tomorrow tomorrow or day after:
This is good news for a huge number of Windows users still waiting to untether jailbreak their iOS 4.2.1 devices. We had published a guide yesterday on how to jailbreak iOS 4.2.1 using greenpois0n, so if you use OS X, we suggest you follow that guide.
We’ll keep you updated on the Windows release of greenpois0n !
