In 2021, Apple introduced faster-charging tech in the Apple Watch Series 7 for the first time. The 33% capability enables users to power up their smartwatch from 0 to 80 battery life in just 45 minutes. The latest Apple Watch Series 8 and Apple Watch Ultra also support fast charging.
Fast charging tech combined with longer battery, allows users to wear their smartwatches for a longer time and carry on various activities like longer runs or walks, all day wear time to track their activity, sleep tracking at night, and much more.
However, there are some requisites to fast charge an Apple Watch. We have listed everything you need to do that.
Here is what you need to fast charge Apple Series 7 or later
Compatible with fast charging, Apple Watch Series 7, Series 8, and Ultra come with the casing, chosen strap, and the magnetic fast charger to USB-C cable in the box.
According to Apple, you require a compatible power adapter with USB Power Delivery (USB-PD) of 5W or greater and a magnetic fast charging cable to fast charge your smartwatch. But the power brick is not included in the box and you will have to purchase it separately if you do not have one already.
You can purchase any one of the following Apple or third-party power adapters:
- 18W, 20W, 29W, 30W, 61W, 87W, or 96W USB-C Power Adapter
It must be kept in mind that, Apple Watch Ultra requires an hour to go from 0 to 80 percent battery.
