iMazing app for Mac has been updated with native Apple Silicon support for M1 Macs and Apple ProRAW photo format support. iMazing is one of the most popular apps after iTunes that can be used to sync files between an iOS device and a Mac.
The app is available for both Mac and Windows, and both versions have been updated with ProRAW support, so if you have an iPhone 12 Pro or iPhone 12 Pro Max, this app will be extremely useful for you to manage the large files that Apple’s new photo format produces.
iMazing is now a native Apple Silicon app and features ProRAW support
Apple released ProRAW photo format as part of its iOS 14.3 update. The format captures a lot more data than processed JPEG files, allowing users to recover a lot more information and detail using various editing tools. Apple has also released macOS Big Sur 11.1 with support for ProRAW format in Photos app, but it is not as granular as what iMazing offers.
iMazing has been quick to add support for ProRAW, as per its official announcement post:
iOS 14.3 is out in the wild, bringing an exciting new feature for photographers: the ability to capture images in Apple’s new ProRAW format with their iPhone 12 Pro or 12 Pro Max. We’re delighted to announce that iMazing has already been updated to support ProRAW – our users can browse and export their ProRAW shots from day one, using both the macOS and Windows versions of iMazing. ProRAW support was added in version 2.13.2, just a few days before iOS 14.3 released.
With its new update, iMazing gets native support for Apple Silicon Macs, which brings along massive improvements to its performance and efficiency. Users can also use the new ProRAW functionality in the app to manage the photos on their iOS device. The app lets users do the following:
- Sort images by ProRAW photo format type
- See complete meta-information for ProRAW photos
- Export ProRAW images in their full quality, or as JPEGs, right from within iMazing app
Of course, you can still use other iMazing app features such as messages backups, music transfers, complete device backups, Safari data export, ringtone customization, and much more.
iMazing is available as a free trial, with limitations on how much data you can sync or export.
