iOS 16.2 beta 2 updates Stocks app with new watchlists options

Apple’s upcoming iOS 16.2 will deliver an improved Stocks app. As found in the latest iOS 16.2 beta 2, the native Stocks app features new organization options for various watchlists to give users more granular control to configure which data they want to view.

Stocks is a built-in app on iPhone and iPad which makes it easy for users to monitor and track stocks and the market. Users can view daily performance, and price quotes in customizable watchlists, charts and details, business news, and more.

Stocks app’s new watchlist also available on its Home Screen widgets on iOS 16.2 beta

On iOS 16.2, the Stocks app will allow users to organize their watchlists according to the following options to show data:

  • Manual 
  • Price change
  • Percent change
  • Market cap 
  • Symbol
  • Name

The new watchlist options are also available on the Stocks app Home Screen widgets on iOS 16.2 beta 2 which enables users to view information at a glance. It is likely that the company might also introduce Stocks app Lock Screen widgets so that users won’t need to unlock their iPhones to view market position.

iOS 16.2 is currently in beta testing phase and it is expected to release in mid-December. Other features discovered on iOS 16.2 beta 2 are a new Medications widget for the Lock Screen, a reference to ‘Custom Accessibility Mode’, and Dynamic Island that shrinks to display signal and WiFi bars when playing music

The previous iOS 16.2 beta 1 added Freeform, Sleep widgets for the Lock Screen,  Live Activities with more frequent updatesFreeform, and reports on unintentional Emergency SOS triggers.

Download the Stocks app from the App Store. It is compatible with iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Apple Watch and requires iOS 10.0 or later.
