A Reddit user found a new icon for the car Bluetooth stereo on iOS 16.2 beta.
Last week, Apple seeded iOS 16.2 beta 1 which included Freeform, a collaborative tool that allows users to write, draw, add images, and more on projects in real time. Since the release, other new changes and features are discovered in the latest beta update like Sleep widgets for Lock Screen, submission of reports on unintentional Emergency SOS calls, and Live Activities with more frequent updates.
When connected to the car’s Bluetooth stereo, the new icon will appear on iOS 16.2
As per @therealFoxster’s post, the new car Bluetooth icon appears for all regular Bluetooth connections for any device which is specified as “car stereo” in settings. It is not limited to CarPlay. On iOS versions older than iOS 16.2 beta, a generic speaker icon appears for car Bluetooth.
A commentator on the post said that the icon was a helpful change to let the users know what the music was playing.
Both iOS 16.2 and iPadOS 16.2 are expected to launch in mid-December later this year. iOS 16.2 is also likely to introduce delayed features like SharePlay support for Game Center, Emergency SOS via Satellite on iPhone 14 lineup, and others.
