One of the key features expected in iOS 18.3 is robot vacuum integration through Apple’s Home app. This functionality, originally planned for earlier, has been delayed to 2025 but is now showing signs of readiness in beta code strings discovered by developers. Once enabled, users will be able to control supported robot vacuums directly within the Home app, expanding Apple’s smart home capabilities.
Another notable addition involves satellite communication settings. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, organizations deploying iPhones through Mobile Device Management (MDM) will gain the option to disable satellite communication services. This feature is particularly relevant for defense and space agencies that require strict control over employee access to satellite connectivity.
The beta also introduces subtle visual refinements, such as updates to Camera Control icons for better compatibility with Dark Mode. These changes enhance the overall aesthetic and usability of iOS. Additionally, hints at upcoming Apple Intelligence features, including upgrades to Image Playground, suggest a more personalized and creative experience for users. A new Sketch style, blending vibrant colors with technical precision, will allow users to generate detailed, realistic images.
While AI-driven advancements are anticipated, the broader scope of Apple Intelligence updates in iOS 18.3 remains speculative. Improvements to Siri, such as personalized context-aware responses, could lay the groundwork for smarter interactions.
