At the announcement event of the latest iPad Air, the Cupertino tech giant did not give a launch date. Although the industry reports hinted at a later date in October, the new tablet was available for pre-order in mid-October.
Now, owners who have recently received their orders, are sharing the unboxing videos on social media for a hands-on look at the latest 10.9-inch fourth-generation iPad Air which will be available in stores on October 23 in five colors options: space gray, silver, rose gold, green, and sky blue.
The Unboxing of the iPad Air 4
YouTuber and tech analyst, Rene Ritchie unboxed the new iPad Air WiFi 256GB model in sky blue. For reference, Ritchie placed the iPhone 12 in blue, iPhone 12 Pro in pacific blue next to the iPad Air in sky blue to show the difference in color gradients of Apple’s blue color options in different devices.
In the box, the tablet comes with a USB-C to USB-C cable and a power adapter. The manual booklet is the same as the leaked manual. After taking the packaging covers off, the 2020 iPad Pro like the edge-to-edge design language of the iPad Air 4 with slimmer bezels in matte finish looks impressive with a better grip.
It has the same physical size as the 11-inch iPad Pro, and compared to 12.9-inch iPad Pro it is smaller in size and has a single wide camera in oppose to the three cameras system with LiDAR scanner of the larger Pro model. The iPad Air 4 works similarly to the iPad Pro in the Magic Keyboard case with a strong magnetic attachment except for the camera cut out.
The new Touch ID sensor in the Power button on top of the device works like the iPhone 5 Touch ID authentication. Although it does not have the iPad Pro four-speaker system for more immersive audio, the new 10.9-inch iPad has a dual speaker system with computational audio for a high-quality sound experience.
