Apple recently released the second beta of iOS 15.2 and iPadOS 15.2 for developers. Along with Messages Communication Safety in iMessage and the ability to access and use Hide My Email directly from the Mail app, the beta also brings an updated design to the Apple TV app on iPad and a new Store tab in the app.
Apple TV app gets new sidebar and Store tab in latest software beta updates
The Apple TV app on iPad now features a sidebar instead of the tab bar at the bottom of the screen. In the sidebar, users can access every section of the app including Watch Now, Apple TV+ Originals, Search, and Library. iPhone and Mac users will also receive the new Store tab in the Apple TV app with iOS 15.2 beta 2 and macOS Monterey 12.1 beta 2.
Prior to this update, the movies and TV shows in the iTunes Store were combined with content found in the App TV app so there was no convenient way to search for content that is solely available for purchase. The Store tab fixes that inconvenience by only displaying what is available in the iTunes Store for purchase or rental however, users can still see if the content is available on a supported streaming service.
iOS 15.2 beta 2 also allows users to designate people as legacy contacts for their accounts, features a new toggle for iPhone 13 Pro’s Macro photography mode in the Camera app, offers App Privacy Reports, and more. As with other updates, Apple will also include numerous bug fixes and performance enhancements in the official release of iOS 15.2 and iPadOS 15.2.
Currently, we do not know when iOS 15.2 will be released to the general public, but the final version of the software update will likely arrive by the end of the year.
