iPhone 12 did not launch at the recent September 15 event due to undisclosed reasons. Therefore, new reports on the alleged details of the upcoming smartphone line-up are circulating. As per an anonymous Twitter account, Apple is going to call the smallest model of the new iPhone, 5.4-inch, the iPhone 12 mini. This is the first time any source has given the name of the aforementioned model.
The new iPhone series is usually launched in September. However, this year the launch is postponed by a few weeks. In unusual times, the company for the first time officially announced the delay without stating its reasons.

@L0vetodream, Twitter account, shared the names of the different models in the new iPhone series. The alleged names are:
- 5.4-inch- iPhone 12 mini
- 6.1-inch- iPhone 12
- 6.1-inch- iPhone 12 Pro
- 6.7-inch- iPhone 12 Pro Max
According to other reports like the other bigger size models of the new smartphone series, the 5.4-inch model will support 5G and be powered by an A14 Bionic chip. Renowned tech analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo claims that the smallest model will also have a smaller notch than the other models in the new flagship iPhone series.
In July, images of the 5.4-inch iPhone 12 mini’s display panel surfaced on the Chinese social media platform, Weibo. The leaked panels looked very similar to the current iPhone 11 model with the same size notch. Having said that, the alleged display showed that the 5.4-inch model would have thinner bezels for a bigger screen. It is also claimed that this model will have a 60Hz display refresh rate.
Previously, Jeff Pu, a tech analyst, reported that the 5.4-inch model of the upcoming smartphone series would retail for $749 because of advanced technology like OLED display and 5G network support. According to Pu’s price tag, the smallest model will be $50 higher in cost than the current 64GB iPhone 11. Another leaker with a mixed track record, Jon Prosser reported the price of the same model with 2 cameras would be $649.
