iPhone 12 Pro might support 4K video at 120fps and 240 fps according to Max Weinbach and Filip Koroy of EverythingApplePro. The new camera modes are expected to come with the high-end iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max.
Apple is expected to announce 4 new models of the new iPhone 12 this year with high-end specs like OLED display, 5G connectivity and a new Bionic processing chip. The new smartphones will be getting a complete iPad Pro-like redesigned exterior with a flat edges and glass back.
New Camera Modes on iPhone 12 Pro
Koroy and Weinberg found evidence in the iOS 14 beta code that supports new 4K high resolution and slow-motion videography formats. The report also mentions that iPhone 12 Pro could have a new ProMotion 120Hz high-refresh display as well.
Weinbach stated that sources at Apple have confirmed testing for these new camera features. If these leaks are true, the new iPhone 12 Pro could dynamically switch between its 60Hz and 120Hz displays to save battery.
Low-end iPhone 12 models will have 60Hz display, as in the current iPhone 11 Pro, which will support 4K at 60fps and 1080p at 240fps.
The LiDAR scanner feature from the 2020 iPad Pro is are also expected in the form of a 3D camera in the upcoming iPhones. iOS 14 will also bring night mode stabilization and other improvements. On the other hand, ProMotion display has been in the rumor mill for months, and it is highly likely that the upcoming iPhones may feature it.
