The latest iPhone 12 series was launched last October, and at today’s event, Apple has introduced a new purple color option for 6.1-inch iPhone 12 and 5.4-inch iPhone 12 mini models. Currently, the base models are available in red, blue, black, mint green, and white options.

The newly announced iPhone 12 in purple option is the lighter lavender color to complement the current color scheme. The smartphone in the new purple color will be available for pre-order this Friday, April 23, and will be in stores by April 30.
Although in the latest series Apple has visibly distinguished iPhone 12 base and Pro models with different color options and advanced technology, the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini models still offer new technology to deliver an enhanced user experience.
Available in 64GB, 128Gb, and 256GB storage options, the base iPhone 12 models are powered by an A14 Bionic chip and feature a Super Retina XDR and all-screen OLED display with more durable Ceramic Shield protection to offer higher resistance to scratches, and cracks. True Tone, Wide color (P3) 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio (typical), 625 nits max brightness (typical) and 1200 nits max brightness (HDR) delivers better resolution.
In addition, the camera system is improved with ƒ/2.4 aperture and 120° field of view Ultra Wide and ƒ/1.6 aperture Wide cameras with 2x optical zoom out and digital zoom up to 5x. The models have rated IP68 (maximum depth of 6 meters up to 30 minutes) under IEC standard 60529 splash, water, and dust resistance.
Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing describes the smartphones,
“The incredible iPhone 12 is the most popular smartphone in the world, and the iPhone 12 family has an over 99 percent customer satisfaction rate. The new purple finish, just in time for spring, adds another bright and fun option to the lineup, and we think customers are going to love it.”
