At the expense of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, sales of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are consistently growing. The iPhone 14 Pro models currently make up 75% of Apple’s display panel shipments, and that percentage is only anticipated to rise, according to new data from analyst Ross Young.
iPhone 14 Plus panel shipments to account for less than 5% of total shipments for entire lineup
According to the analyst’s most recent data, panel shipments for the iPhone 14 have somewhat increased, but panel shipments for the iPhone 14 Plus have ceased completely. So, the rise in iPhone 14 panel shipments was not enough to offset the decline in iPhone 14 Plus shipments.
As a result, sales of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are increasing and they now represent a higher portion of iPhone 14 panel shipments. According to Young’s research, panel shipments for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max were considerably raised by Apple.
75% of the iPhone 14 series panel shipments in December came from the two iPhone 14 Pro models. Young anticipates that in data for January and February, this will at least hit 80%. Although they might start up again in February, shipments of iPhone 14 Plus panels would still make up less than 5% of all shipments.
Young also provided a graph comparing the shipments of iPhone 14 series panels to the iPhone 13 lineup. He predicted that after dominating from August to January, the iPhone 14 lineup would lose ground to the iPhone 13 in January and February.
Through much of November and December, Apple struggled with substantial iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max shortages. Most of the company’s device shortages have been remedied, especially since post-holiday shopping season demand has reduced.
Apple still intends to produce an iPhone 15 Plus later this year despite the fact that demand for the iPhone 14 Plus was far lower than anticipated. It remains to be seen if Apple will make any adjustments to assist increase sales, but there have been rumblings of price reductions for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus.
The price of the iPhone 15 Pro versions may also be increased, according to rumors. Increased sales, higher margins, and higher average selling prices might all be achieved by extending the gap between the two ends of the lineup for Apple.
