The iPhone 14 Pro’s Dynamic Island is one of the most popular features of the latest Pro lineup because it offers a completely new way to interact with the iPhone. Developer Parker Ortolani has found another selling point of the always-alive interactive space.
Thanks to the iPhone 14 Pro’s Dynamic Island, the custom app icons on the Home Screen work smoothly without any delay.
Although Apple does not let users change iOS app icons, the Shortcuts app enables them to create custom icons for specific apps on the iPhone Home Screen. But, whenever a shortcut for an app with a custom icon app is opened, a huge banner appears on the screen and the app launched with a slight delay. Now, iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max users will not face that irksome behavior thanks to Dynamic Island.
iPhone 14 Pro’s Dynamic Island removes large banners and delays from shortcuts with custom app icons
On iPhone 14 Pro models, custom icons do not show a banner on the top of the screen, instead, a small animation appears on the Dynamic Island, along with a checkmark to confirm that the shortcut has been executed, successfully.
Custom app icons are actually great now on the 14 Pro. Just a small dynamic island animation and there’s no delay to start swiping! pic.twitter.com/7aDSTgsdlR

Furthermore, there is no delay in the time to interact with the app with a custom icon. The app launches instantly. It is nice to see, iOS users now have more ways to personalize their UI.
iOS 14.3 allowed users to create custom icons without opening the Shortcuts app. Here is our comprehensive guide on how to create custom icons for iPhone Home Screen.
Yeah no more full fledged banner or delay in being able to interact with the app on the 14 Pro models

Having said that, older iPhone users including the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus still have to bear larger banners and delays when using shortcuts with custom icons.
iPhone 14 Pro exclusive Dynamic Island is also popular amongst Apple’s competitors; third-party app dynamicSpot has copied Dynamic Island for Android and Realme is asking creators to suggest ways how to copy Dynamic Island on realme devices.
It is reported that the interactive space will be available across the upcoming iPhone 15 series.
