J.P. Morgan analysts have been tracking lead times of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models since they were launched. The biggest piece of news from this data is that lead times for the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max are down compared to the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max in the same period of availability.
iPhone 14 Pro Max seeing demand on par with iPhone 14 Pro
According to data from the Apple Product Availability Tracker by JP Morgan (via AppleInsider), the iPhone 14 Pro models are seeing moderate lead times. Though lead times are not the best measure of demand, they do tell us about demand and supply balance.
In the United States, lead times for the iPhone 14 Pro Max are on par with the iPhone 14 Pro, at 32 days each. The Pro Max was previously at 39 days. Lead times for the iPhone 14 and Plus are stable at three days each. The United States is a key region for Apple as it accounts for 35% of all global iPhone shipments.
In China, estimated delivery dates for the iPhone 14 Pro are down, compared to global lead times. The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max’s estimated delivery dates in the region currently fall at 22 days and 29 days, respectively. The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus are seeing lead times of 1 day. For comparison, the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini saw lead times of 12 days in the same period last year.
As for the United Kingdom and Germany, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus have next-day lead times. Similar to China, the region saw lead times of 11 days for the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini. Estimated delivery dates for the iPhone 14 Pro models remain consistent.
As for the new Apple Watch models, the Apple Watch Series 8 and Apple Watch Ultra are not seeing lead times of 9 days and 24 days respectively, down from 11 days and 25 days. The Apple Watch SE also saw a decrease in lead times, going from 10 days to 9 days.
Finally, the last release from Apple’s September event, the second-generation AirPods Pro 2 are seeing stable lead times at 2 days. A week ago, the lead times for the AirPods Pro 2 were 3 days.
