Since the launch of the iPhone 12 Pro Max in 2020, Apple’s highest-end models have seen the strongest demand. Anticipating high demand for the new iPhone 14 Pro Max model, the tech giant is going to produce more units of the 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max than the other models in the new series.
Display analyst, Ross Young shared that the new iPhone 14 Pro Max will have the highest volume by displays from June through September. And the new iPhone 14 Max which is expected to replace the 5.4-inch iPhone mini will have the lowest.
iPhone 14 Pro Max will account for a 28% share of display volume and iPhone 14 Max will account for 19%
As per the report, the Cupertino tech giant will be manufacturing its highest-end model the most. The volume of panel production for the upcoming series from June to September will be as the following:
- iPhone 14 Pro Max – 28%
- iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 – 26%
- iPhone 14 Max – 19%
He added that the shipment volumes will be similar to the display volumes with the highest-model accounting for 29%.
Young’s report is corroborated by Economic Daily which claimed that Apple has increased the iPhone 14 shipments by 5% to manufacturing 95 million units for launch and the new 6.7-inch Pro Max premium model will have the most stock in spite of a possible increase in price.
Furthermore, he also stated that the production of the 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max will account for 21% of the volume but its display panel shipments will “make up a lot of ground” in September to clear up initial supply constraints.
First introduced in iPhone 12 series, the 5.4-inch iPhone mini model performed poorly for two cycles. The market survey revealed that consumers preferred larger displays and longer battery life, therefore, the tech giant has decided to discontinue it and add a 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max base model this year.
