In a new report, iPhone 14 Pro Max has lost its crown for having the fastest 5G download speeds to not just one but two Android devices.
Previously, when iPhone 14 Pro Max launched, it took the top spot for fastest 5G download speeds in multiple tests, beating strong competitors like Samsung’s Galaxy S22 smartphones.
The iPhone 14 Pro Max’s median download speed dropped from 147 to 133Mbps
As per the report, iPhone 14 Pro Max lost its fastest download speed crown to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4, which topped with 147.24 Mbps median download speed. Google’s Pixel 7 Pro ranked second at 137.11 Mbps. The iPhone 14 Pro Max’s median download speed dropped from 147 to 133Mbps, allowing the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Pixel 7 Pro to take the first and second spots, respectively.
As we have seen, iPhone 14 Pro Max performs at speeds as high as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 and Google’s Pixel 7 Pro, so there are possibilities that between Q3 and Q4, more iPhone 14 Pro Max smartphones made it into the hands of customers in areas with slower 5G speeds.
Out of the five fastest 5G devices in the United States in Q1, 2022, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 ranked at the top, Google’s Pixel 7 Pro ranked second, iPhone 14 Pro Max ranked third, iPhone 14 Pro ranked fourth, and Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra ranked fifth.
