The iPhone 14 Pro models have been introduced with a lot of firsts for an iPhone; a new notch, 48MP camera system, satellite connectivity, and more. In addition to those features, for the first time, the Cupertino tech giant has announced two new colorways for the models: Space Black and Deep Purple.
Space Black is likely meant to replace Graphite from the previous generation as many customers have been asking for a jet black iPhone, similar to the colorway that was introduced with the iPhone 7 lineup. On the other hand, Deep Purple is going to replace the iPhone 13 Pro’s wildly popular Sierra Blue.
It is unclear why Apple is getting rid of the Sierre Blue option within the span of a single generation. The metallic finish of the soft blue colorway made for a truly striking iPhone. However, with the introduction of two new finishes, there is something for everyone in this lineup.
The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus are available in five colorways: Blue, Purple, Midnight, Starlight, and PRODUCT(RED).
The new iPhone 14 Pro models feature a new interactive notch feature called “Dynamic Island”, always-on display support, a powerful new A16 chip, and a 48MP wide camera. The smartphones also feature new Emergency SOS through satellite, as well as Crash Detection.
Customers can pre-order the smartphones from apple.com or the Apple Store app starting from Friday, September 9, while shipping will start on Friday, September 16.
