At the Wonderlust event, Apple unveiled the new iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models with an advanced A16 Bionic chip, 48MP Main camera, Dynamic Island, up to 2000 nits brightness, a longer battery, and much more. The 2023 standard models also come in a new Pink color option.

This year, Apple has equipped both iPhone 15 and 15 Plus with features that were added in Pro models last year.
Processor -A16 chip
Introduced in iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max in 2022, the new iPhone 15 and 15 Plus feature the advanced A16 Bionic chip which is built on a second-generation 5nm process for faster performance and improved power efficiency.
Display – Dynamic Island and higher brightness
Dynamic Island has debuted on the new 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch models (2023) to display exciting animations, notifications, Live Activity updates, and more on top of the smartphones.
The display on the new iPhone 15 and 15 Plus is brighter than the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus models. Up to 2000 nits peak outdoor brightness, and up to 1600 nits Peak HDR brightness for an improved video streaming experience.
48MP main camera with 2x Telephoto lens
iPhone 15 and 15 Plus with a new 48MP Main camera with a quad-pixel sensor and 100% Focus Pixels for fast autofocus to capture sharper, brighter, and more detailed photos and videos. The Main camera offers default 24MP super-high-resolution for incredible image quality at a practical file size ideal for storing and sharing.
The smartphones also feature a new 2x Telephoto option with three optical zoom levels (0.5x, 1x, 2x) for the first time in standard models. It will be useful to capture detailed portraits, especially in low-light environments.
USB-C port
Finally, the iPhone 15 series has transitioned to a USB-C port for charging and data transfer. Users in Apple’s ecosystem will be able to charge their iPhone 15, MacBook, iPad, and AirPods Pro (USB-C) with a single charger.
Emergency SOS via Satellite supports roadside assistance
The new Roadside Assistance via satellite service will connect users to AAA if they have car trouble in areas with no cellular coverage and Wi-Fi connection in the United States. The service will be covered according to AAA membership.
Advanced Ultra Wide Band
For improved connectivity, the new iPhone 15 is equipped with an advanced Ultra Wide Band so two iPhones with the same chip can connect at 3x the range as before.
Improved audio experience on phone calls
New Voice Isolation feature improves audio quality on phone calls by letting the sound come through loud and clear even in noisy places.
Battery
The new A16 Bionic chip features a 6-core CPU, with two high-performance cores and four high-efficiency cores, uses 20% less power than the previous models, handles intensive tasks easily and delivers improved battery life.
Five color options including a new pink
Both models are available in new pink, yellow, green, blue, and black color options in textured matte finish. For the first time, color is infused throughout the back glass for a luxurious look.
FineWoven protective cases and other accessories
As part of its commitment to the environment, After has introduced new FineWoven material and eliminated leather protective cases for the new iPhone 15 series and other products from its accessories lineup. FineWoven accessories included protective cases and wallets with MagSafe in black, taupe, mulberry, pacific blue, and evergreen for the iPhone 15 series.
Price and availability
iPhone 15 will start at $799 and iPhone 15 Plus will start at $899 and will be available in 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage capacities. Pre-orders will begin on Friday, September 15 at 5 a.m. PDT and will be available on September 22.
