Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman recently outlined his predictions for Apple’s September 12 event, “Wonderlust.” As per the analyst’s expectations, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models are poised to deliver some exciting upgrades.
iPhone 15 Pro camera upgrades to take centerstage at Apple’s “Wonderlust” event
Titanium chassis and sleeker design
The upcoming iPhone 15 Pro models are set to get a boost in durability with a new titanium chassis. Not only will this make the devices more robust, but it also shaves off about 10% of their weight.
Say goodbye to pesky fingerprints, as the brushed finish will be a welcome change from the polished stainless steel frames of previous models. The device’s edges are also getting a makeover with smoother, rounded contours. Plus, expect displays that appear noticeably larger, thanks to reduced bezels that are around one-third smaller.
A17 Bionic chip
As for the internal upgrades, the A17 Bionic chip is set to impress. Crafted using a groundbreaking 3nm fabrication process, it promises enhanced performance. However, the real showstopper is the improved battery life it brings to the table. Current iPhone 14 Pro models offer roughly 23-29 hours of battery life, but the iPhone 15 Pro models are expected to top that. More memory is also on the horizon, surpassing the 6GB in recent Pro iPhone models.
The “Action Button”
Gone is the mute switch, replaced by the “Action Button.” This button’s functionality can be customized to perform a range of tasks, from silencing your phone to launching the flashlight or Siri shortcuts. The Action Button will help in making your iPhone experience more versatile and user-friendly.
Camera upgrades
The telephoto and ultra-wide cameras on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are getting a megapixel boost, breaking the 12-megapixel barrier for the first time. Prepare for stunning photos and improved zoom capabilities.
U2 ultra wideband chip and faster wireless charging
Both standard and Pro iPhone models will feature a brand-new “U2” ultra-wideband chip, taking location tracking in the Find My app to the next level. Faster wireless charging speeds are also on the horizon, along with a more repairable design across the entire iPhone lineup.
Reiteration of earlier rumors
Gurman’s insights confirm several earlier rumors, including the expansion of the Dynamic Island to all 4 models, the A16 Bionic chip for non-Pro models, and a 48-megapixel main camera for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. The iPhone 15 Pro Max will flaunt a periscope telephoto camera with up to 6x optical zoom.
