According to supply chain sources, Taiwanese publisher DigiTimes claims that the next-generation iPhone SE 3 is set to launch in the first half of 2022. The new report corroborates TrendForce’s claim that the Cupertino tech giant will release the third-generation iPhone SE in the first quarter of 2022. It can be presumed that Apple will launch the new model in March- April time frame like its launched iPhone SE (2nd generation in 2020).
Apple has not cut new iPhone orders and iPhone SE 3 will launch in early 2022
While refuting news of Apple cutting down on iPhone production, the new report also mentioned the launch time of the upcoming entry-level model. The preview of the paywalled article reads:
VCM suppliers see no cutback in orders for new iPhones: VCM (voice coil motor) and other component suppliers have still seen no cutback in orders for the new iPhones, and are gearing up for shipments for the next generation of Apple’s iPhone SE series slated for launch in the first half of 2022, according to industry sources.
Based on leaks and industry sources, the upcoming iPhone SE is expected to feature the powerful A15 Bionic chip that is used in the current iPhone 13 series and iPad mini (2021), an iPhone X like rounded-edges and design language, 4.7-inch LCD display, 5G network support, Touch ID, and more.
Recently, renowned tech analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that Apple has planned to revamp the 2023 iPhone SE model with major updates but the 2022 model will receive a minor refresh to the current model. According to a display analyst, the 2023 iPhone SE model might come with a punch-hole display. Reportedly, the advanced punch-hole display tech will debut in iPhone 14 series launch in 2022.
