A new report from a Japanese publisher, Macotakara reconfirms the alleged design and features of the upcoming iPhone SE 3 model. The report claims that the next-generation iPhone SE model will retain the same design as the second-generation iPhone SE model launched in 2020.
The entry-level 2020 iPhone SE features a 4.7-inch Retina HD display, A 13 Bionic chip, Touch ID home button, and is available in black, white, and (Product) RED color options. It comes in 64, 128, and 256 GB storage variants with haptic touch, Apple Pay support, wireless charging, Wi-Fi 6, Gigabit-class LTE, and Dual-SIM support with eSIM.
iPhone SE 3 with 5G network support will launch in the Spring of 2022
There is some confusion surrounding the processor of iPhone SE 3. DigiTimes claimed that the model will be powered by A14 Bionic Chip but Ming-Chi Kuo wrote that Apple will use A15 Bionic chip in the upcoming iPhone SE 3. Macotakara corroborates Kuo’s claim.
As per the report, the major upgrades coming to iPhone SE 3 are the faster A15 Bionic chip which is currently used in iPhone 13 series, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon X60 5G modem chip to support 5G connectivity. It is claimed that the model will go into mass production by December 2021 and is expected to launch in the Spring of 2022.
The iPhone SE (2nd generation) was launched in April 2020. Maybe the next-generation entry-level model might launch in March- April time frame next year.
He says that it will continue to adopt the 4.7-inch Retina HD display and Touch ID, and it will be an updated model equipped with the same A15 Bionic chip and Qualcomm Snapdragon X60 5G modem chip as the iPhone 13 series. Production will start around December 2021, and it seems likely that it will be released in the spring of 2022 as usual.
A display analyst claims that future iPhone SE will get a major design upgrade with a punch hole cut out for a front-facing camera, with an edge-to-edge 6.1-inch display. And based on the industry reports, ‘ConceptsiPhones’ created a beautiful concept design of the new entry-level model which features a flat edge-to-edge display, punch-hole camera system, six new color options, and more.
