Jailbreak iPhone 2G, 3G, 3GS OS 3.1.3 and iPod Touch 1G OS 3.1.3 with sn0wbreeze v1.4

image The jailbreak updates keep pouring in! ih8sn0w team has been working hard to iron out the bugs and add support for more devices for sn0wbreeze. Version 1.3 was released a few days ago with support for iPhone 2G, 3G and 3GS with OS 3.1.3, while the updated new version 1.4 brings support for iPod Touch 1G and fixes iPhone 3GS issues that users were facing. To jailbreak iPhone 3GS using sn0wbreeze you’re still required to have the old bootrom and a non-MC model.

Here’s a guide on how to jailbreak your device with sn0wbreeze v1.4. The link is for the version 1.3 guide, but download and use v1.4 instead and follow the same instructions. The method is simple, create a custom firmware using sn0wbreeze 1.4, and restore it to your device using iTunes. Once you’ve jailbroken your iPhone/iPod Touch, follow this guide on how to unlock it using ultrasn0w. Using sn0wbreeze v1.4 you can jailbreak the following devices currently:

  • iPhone 2G
  • iPhone 3G
  • iPhone 3GS
  • iPod Touch 1G

Another alternative is redsn0w version 0.9.4 which jailbreaks the following devices:

  • iPhone 2G
  • iPhone 3G
  • iPhone 3GS (older bootrom and non-MC models)
  • iPod Touch 1G
  • iPod Touch 2G
  • iPod Touch 3G ( non-MC models)
