jailbreakMe, for those who do not know, was a webpage that iPhone users could go to in order to quickly jailbreak their new device. All it required was going to Safari, going to jailbreak.me and then waiting a minute in order for the phone to do it’s thing. After a reboot, you have an unlocked phone.
After a very short time it was released, Apple patched the iOS firmware to cover the exploit found by Comex. Now, Comex has been working since August of 2010, developing a new solution for Jailbreakme to continue assisting iOS users in easily jailbreaking their devices. The above image is a screenshot of his page that was updated recently, stating possibly a solution is coming soon.
The upcoming release is expected to support all iOS devices running 4.3.3 or below, including the iPad 2! We should see his release soon, but for now we should all remain patient and calm while he sorts it out. Stay tuned here for more updates when we get them.
