Oscar-winner Jared Leto is reportedly in talks to star in the Apple TV+ series, “WeCrashed,” which is based on the six-part podcast series “WeCrashed: The Rise and Fall of WeWork.”
Apple TV+ is the Cupertino tech giant’s award-winning video streaming service which offers a ton of original content like talk shows, documentaries, animated shows, and more. Since its launch, the service has won several and nominations for titles like Peanuts, The Morning Show, and others.
Jared Leto could be coming to Apple TV+ in ‘WeCrashed’
As reported by Deadline, Jared Leto would play WeWork’s CEO Adam Neumann. At one point in time, WeWork has an estimated value of $47 billion, before it collapsed. Neumann served as the company’s CEO from 2010 through 2019, before being pressured into resigned due to his “eccentric behavior”.
“Hosted by David Brown, the podcast series told the tale of WeWork and its founders. The company was valued at $47 billion, it was ready for a huge IPO, and its charismatic CEO Adam Neumann thought it was going to change the world. Neumann had a prophet-like vision for WeWork that he sold to some of the world’s savviest investors — but did his vision ever match the company’s reality?”
The report does note that there is no guarantee that Leto will be a part of the series, but that discussions are ongoing. If Leto joins the cast, it would make WeWork the first TV show he will appear in since My So Called Life back in the 90s.
To watch the series, viewers will need a subscription to Apple’s streaming service. For $4.99 per month, with a seven-day free trial, Apple TV Plus is available on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, Apple TV via the Apple TV app.
