A reliable Apple leaker @Unknownz21 has shared an alleged image of the iPhone 15 Pro USB-C port which also shows its titanium casing.
Although iPhone users have been asking the tech giant to switch from Lighting to the USB-C port for years, the tech giant had been hesitant to make the move due to uncertain reasons. However, new legislation by the EU Commission to expected to change that.
Under the new law, all mobile phone vendors like Apple have to sell smartphones, tablets, and other portable electronic devices with a single standard USB-C port by December 2024. Therefore, it is heavily speculated that the tech company will adopt the USB-C tech in the iPhone 15 Pro models expected to launch in September this year.
iPhone 15 Pro might be upgraded from stainless steel to titanium
The device seen in the leaked image does not have a logo but it is speculated to be an iPhone because it has the same bottom array of speaker holes and screws on both sides of the charging port as on an iPhone.
Interestingly, the image also shows that the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro might be upgraded from stainless steel to titanium to make the Pro lineup more exclusive.
It is also reported that iPhone 15 Pro models would feature an A17 Bionic chip built on a 3nm process, thinner bezels, punch hole display with the under-the-screen Face ID, 2,500-nit brightness, faster Wi-Fi 6E, periscope lens for higher 5x or 10x optical zoom, and 8GB of RAM.
To widen the gap between standard and Pro models, the tech company is also reported to replace the 6.7-inch Pro Max model with a new Ultra model which might feature two front cameras.
