Leaked iPad Air 4 manual reveals all-screen display with Touch ID built into the power button

New leaked images of the new iPad Air 4’s manual reveal details of the tablet’s design and features. In the alleged pictures, the next-generation iPad Air will have thinner bezels, a USB-C connector, and Touch ID embedded in the power button of the device.

Previously, a report from MyDrive on the internal specifications of the upcoming iPad Air claimed that it will be powered by an A14 Bionic chip, will have an 11-inch Retina display, and 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage options. Another report by Komiya stated that Apple will ship the next-gen iPad Air with Magic Keyboard support and the tablet will be launched in March 2021.

Alleged iPad Air 4 Manual

Today, Twitter user @DuanRui shared images of what appears to be the instructions manual of the upcoming iPad Air 4, written in Spanish. It shows a drawing of a dramatically different iPad Air, that resembles the iPad Pro series with its thinner bezels and no Home button.

According to the account, Touch ID will be embedded in the power button on the side of the device instead of under the display. The image reveals that the device has a front camera, but no Face ID hardware. Instructions in the manual referring to using Apple Pay with Touch ID substantiate that assumption. iPad Air

Earlier this year, leaker @l0vetodream also reported that Apple was developing a new iPad Air model featuring a full-screen design and Touch ID power button.

On other pages of the instructions booklet, there are references of a Smart Connector on the back panel of the device for new Magic Keyboard and other compatible accessories. The manual also references at USB-C connectivity rather than Lightning.

If the leaked manual is authentic, it shows the upcoming iPad Air could have a huge design change than the current model. On Wednesday, new filings spotted in the EEC database revealed that Apple plans to release seven new iPad models. A tech analyst, Jon Prosser has previously said that the new models will include both, a new iPad and iPad Air. The new tablets are expected to be released in the second week of September this year, along with the new Apple Watch Series 6, probably in a press release.
