Apple has released limited-edition AirPods Pro 2 for the upcoming Chinese New Year. On January 22, 2023, Chinese and East Asians around the world will celebrate the Year of the Rabbit, and consumers in select regions can spread the spirit of festivities with their loved ones by gifting them special edition AirPods Pro 2 with rabbit engravings.
Chinese New Year or the Spring Festival celebrates the beginning of a new year on the traditional lunar calendar and celebrates 1 of the 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac. Therefore, the date and zodiac sign of the festival changes every year. 2023 is the year of the rabbit.
Festivities of the New Year last for seven days during which people honor deities and ancestors by getting together for family dinners and giving gifts in red envelopes and packets. Gifts received or given in Red wrappings are believed to bring good luck in the new year.
Therefore, Apple releases the limited-edition AirPods Pro in a special box with a red icon. The tech will also be giving limited-edition AirTag with a special rabbit emoji engraving and gift cards to the first 30,000 customers in Japan who purchase a new iPhone SE, iPhone 12, iPhone 13, or iPhone 13 mini.
