The highlight product is the updated Magic Keyboard that comes with support for Touch ID, offering quick access to macOS and even allowing users to switch profiles with the touch of their finger. The keyboard comes in seven different colors, the same options as the M1 iMac. The Touch ID functions wirelessly, which means that users do not have to connect their keyboards to their iMac via Lightning cable.

The Magic Keyboard uses a dedicated security component on the keyboard that communicates directly with Secure Enclave in M1, creating an encrypted channel to protect users’ fingerprint data from end-to-end. Users will be able to experience a secure, fast, and easy method of unlocking their Mac or making a purchase with Apple Pay using the new Magic Keyboard. Customers can also opt to choose a Magic Keyboard without Touch ID and a Numeric Keypad.

There were no major changes made to the Magic Mouse except for the new color options. Apple also unveiled Magic Trackpads with new color options and a refined shape so it matches with the new keyboards.
