Apple has unveiled new 11-inch and 12.9-inch M1 iPad Pro models in the most unusual and entertaining way. Staring Tim Cook as Mission Impossible’s Tom Cruise, the announcement video showed Cook taking the M1 chip from a MacBook and placing it in the new iPad Pro. This means, that these next-generation iPad Pro models will offer all of the advanced features, high performance, and incredible battery power that we have come to expect from M1 chips.
2021 M1 iPad Pro is equipped with 5G network support, Liquid Retina XDR display, and more
The next-generation M1 iPad Pro models come with ultra-fast 5G connectivity, Liquid Retina XDR display, and more. The advanced mini-LED display technology delivers improved contrast, higher brightness levels, and more to enhance the creative process.
Now creative professionals, including photographers, videographers, and filmmakers, can view and edit true-to-life HDR content on a large display they can take anywhere. The new Liquid Retina XDR display includes other advanced technologies that can also be found in the 11-inch iPad Pro, including ProMotion, True Tone, and P3 wide color support, delivering an unmatched mobile cinematic viewing experience for HDR and Dolby Vision content.
The M1 iPad Pro features an all-new 12MP Ultra Wide front camera which offers a Center Stage experience for video calls.
Center Stage uses the much larger field of view on the new front camera and the machine learning capabilities of M1 to recognize and keep users centered in the frame. As users move around, Center Stage automatically pans to keep them in the shot.
In addition, the new models feature Thunderbolt and USB 4 support with 4x better bandwidth for wired connections than the previous models. Most importantly, the new iPad Pro models are powered by M1 Apple Silicon to enhance the iPad experience.
“M1 is here. Our first chip designed specifically for Mac, it delivers incredible performance, custom technologies, and revolutionary power efficiency. And it was designed from the very start to work with the most advanced desktop operating system in the world, macOS Big Sur. With a giant leap in performance per watt, every Mac with M1 is transformed into a completely different class of product. This isn’t an upgrade. It’s a breakthrough.”
