Apple unveiled two new iPad Pro models with an M1 processor during its Spring Loaded event. Although the design of the new iPad Pro models is the same as their predecessors, they feature considerable improvements in terms of performance, storage, cameras, and more.
Launched in November 2020, the first-generation M1 Apple Silicon for Mac delivered amazing performance with revolutionary battery life. And now the custom-built processor brings the same performance to the new 11-inch and 12.9-inch M1 iPad Pro models.
11-inch M1 iPad Pro vs 12.9-inch M1 iPad Pro
The newly announced M1 iPad Pro’s max-out model costs up to $300 dollars more than the 11-inch iPad Pro because of its high-tech features like mini-LED display. Having said that, both models are equipped with an M1 chip and up to 2TB storage. Here is the price summary of the currently available 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models.

Both new iPad Pro models feature 5G network support, 12MP Wide and 10MP Ultra wide cameras, Thunderbolt over USB-C, and an M1 chip with 8-core CPU and 8-core GPU. Note that all these new iPad Pro models feature 8GB RAM, except for the 1TB and 2TB variants, which ship with 16GB RAM. This is also the first time that Apple has openly shared the amount of RAM that is available in iPad Pro.
Note that neither of the above prices include the cost of an Apple Pencil, Smart Keyboard, or Magic Keyboard. Adding these accessories to the overall total will increase the price by a fair amount, and easily push it beyond M1 MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models, which might be an important factor when deciding between the two products.
