Apple today announced the long-awaited M2 iPad Pro models alongside the 10th-generation iPad. Unlike typical iPad announcements, which are made at some type of digital event, Apple chose to unveil the new devices via press releases. However, the tech giant has still released a keynote-styled video featuring Apple employees walking viewers through the new features available in the new devices.
Apple employees discuss M2 iPad Pro and 10th-gen iPad in new video
The 9-minute video, which is available on YouTube and Apple’s website, highlights the features of the M2 iPad Pro and the redesigned iPad 10. Similar to Apple’s digital keynotes, the video features Apple employees talking about the new hardware releases from several different locations.
The new 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models with M2 chips are a minor upgrade. The lineup offers a new Apple Pencil hover experience, ProRes video capture, and faster Wi-Fi 6E. However, its external design remains unchanged from the 2018 iPad Pro.
The 10th-generation iPad is a different story altogether. The new entry-level iPad, which comes in four vibrant new finishes, has finally ditched the Home button Touch ID in favor of using the top button. It also features a new all-screen design, USB-C connectivity, the A14 Bionic chip and an upgraded front-facing camera which now resides along the landscape edge, a first for an iPad.
The new iPads are available for order today in 28 countries and regions and will start shipping on October 26. The tech giant also announced a new Apple TV 4K via a press release but it is not scheduled to launch until November.
