Apple is expected to release next-generation Apple Silicon iPad Pro models this year. Mark Gurman from Bloomberg claims that M2 iPad Pro will be unveiled this week on October 18, 2022.
In his latest newsletter, Gurman said that the new iPad Pro models with M2 chip were “days away”. Now, he has given a very precise launch date.
[Update: Apple CEO Tim Cook just shared a teaser tweet with a new ‘pinch to zoom’ artwork with LiDAR, notes, Apple pencil, and more which depicts the versatility of an iPad with the caption that “the possibilities are endless. #Takenote”. Faster 11-inch and 12.9-inch M2 iPad Pro will launch through a press release
Gurman has been saying for a while that Apple is not going to hold new events to launch new iPad Pro and MacBook Pro models in October and November because the upcoming devices will not feature any major changes except for new processors. Therefore, consumers should expect the launch of the new iPad Pro on Tuesday via a press release on Apple Newsroom.
In case it wasn’t obvious with the “days away” wording from Saturday, the launch should be tomorrow. https://t.co/moc5PU8hLk

He also added that the tech giant was probably saving costs for the launch of its new mixed-reality headset with Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality tech in early 2023.
Check out everything we know about the upcoming M2 iPad Pro models here.
At the WWDC 2022 event, Apple introduced the M2 chip in the new 13-inch MacBook Pro and MacBook Air models. As the M2 chip features an 18 percent faster CPU, a 35 percent more powerful GPU, and a 40 percent faster Neural Engine than the industry-leading M1 chip, the new 11-inch and 12.9-inch M2 iPad Pro will be faster and more power efficient than the predecessor models.
They are also reported to come with MagSafe wireless charging support, improve the camera system, and two new 4-pin connectors.
Earlier, Gurman also claimed that iPadOS 16.1 update will be released to the public in the fourth week of October, along with macOS Ventura.
