Apple leaker with a reliable track record @Jon Prosser claims that the new M2 MacBook Air will indeed feature a white bezel, and keyboard like the 24-inch M1 iMac (2020). Earlier, another Apple leaker @Dylan reported that the new model will have a display with white bezels and an all-white keyboard with full-sized function keys.
The new M2 MacBook Air will feature a notch like the 2021 MacBook Pro
Like previous reports, @Prosser reiterates that the new MacBook Air model will be powered by an M2 chip and wil have a new flat edge-to-edge design without the back wedge. In addition to white bezels, keyboard, and full-sized function keys, he claims that the upcoming notebook will support MagSafe charging. More interestingly, he also says that the new model will feature a notch.
Apple recently launched new M1 Pro and M1 Max MacBook Pro models with a notch but without Face ID authentication. Previously, the same source that accurately reported on the MacBook Pro notch feature, also shared that the company will introduce the same design in the new MacBook Air model. Now, Prosser is the second reliable source reconfirming the notch in the Air notebook.
However, it is reported that the new M2 MacBook Air will not feature120Hz ProMotion display, Face ID authentication, SD card, and HDMI port like 2021 MacBook Pro models.
Other expected features of the new laptop model will continue with the same fanless design, be upgraded to a mini-LED display, a 1080p webcam, support a 30W USB-C power adaptor, and come in new color options like purple, green, blue, and more.
Initially, it was reported that the new M2 MacBook Air will launch in early 2022, probably in March – April timeframe, but in his latest note to investors, Ming-Chi Kuo wrote that it will next-generation go into mass production in the third quarter of 2022 and might launch by fall 2022.
