Apple seeds macOS Sequoia 15.5 beta 1 to developers

Apple has released the first macOS Sequoia 15.5 beta to developers. The update is available over-the-air for Macs that are enrolled in the developer beta program.

The previous major update, macOS Sequoia 15.4 was released just a couple of days ago to all users. The update features new emojis, Photos app updates, new Sketch style in Image Playground, Mail Categorization, bug fixes, security fixes and much more.

Apple has not shared any detailed release notes for this update yet. We will update this post once we have more details on the changes.

The previous release had a bunch of new features including Memory movie sin Photos, Sketch style option in Image Playground, additional languages support for Apple Intelligence, Mail categorization, retouch brush in Clean Up tool, new emojis, and much more.

The personalized Siri features which were supposed to be available for testing by now were postponed by Apple in March. This new version of a personalized Siri would give it awareness of users’ personal context, as well as the ability to take action for them within and across their apps The company said that they will start rolling out these features in the coming year.

macOS Sequoia 15.5 beta is compatible with the following Mac models:

  • iMac 2019 and later
  • iMac Pro 2017 and later
  • Mac Studio 2022 and later
  • MacBook Air 2020 and later
  • Mac mini 2018 and later
  • MacBook Pro 2018 and later
  • Mac Pro 2019 and later

If your Mac is already enrolled in Apple’s developer beta software program, simply go to System Settings > General > Software Update to download and install the latest update.

Apple has also released the first developer beta builds for iOS 18.5, iPadOS 18.5, visionOS 2.5, tvOS 18.5, and watchOS 11.5.
