As pre-orders for the iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone Pro Max began on Friday, Apple also revealed pricing for its MagSafe Duo Charger as well as a Leather Sleeve with MagSafe for the iPhone 12 lineup. Both accessories will cost $129. An exact release date has yet to be announced for the accessories, which still cannot be pre-ordered at this time.
The new MagSafe accessories for all iPhone 12 models magnetically attach to the back of the smartphones. Apple’s MagSafe Charger gives 15W power output and can fully charge an iPhone in an hour.
MagSafe Duo Charger and Leather Sleeve will cost $129
The Cupertino tech giant announced the MagSafe Duo charger along with the iPhone 12, HomePod Mini, and other MagSafe accessories during an event in October, but it didn’t offer details on pricing or release date. The pad features two chargers, one for the iPhone 12 and the other for an Apple Watch.
The Leather Sleeve covers all sides of the iPhone 12 models. On the outside, the case features a cutout on the front for the Lock screen clock. On the inside, the sleeve has a pocket for a credit card or ID, and it also comes with a strap that can be attached for easy carrying.
Apple says that the new case will be available “soon” and once it is, buyers can choose between Baltic Blue, Pink Citrus, Saddle Brown, and Red:
“Made from specially tanned and finished European leather, the outside feels soft to the touch and develops a natural patina over time. The sleeve fits snugly around the curves of your iPhone and protects it from scratches and drops, without adding bulk. Inside, there’s a pocket for your credit card or ID, and it comes with a matching strap so that you can keep it close at hand, wherever you go.”
Apple says that the sleeve is made with high-quality leather and that it will age naturally over time. Apple also states that magnetic chargers could leave a mark on the case after a while:
“This sleeve is made with high-quality, supple leather to protect your iPhone. Leather is a natural material and like a fine leather belt, it may show creases, marks, or a patina over time. Interaction with MagSafe accessories will leave slight imprints.”
