Another Hollywood A-lister will be making his debut on Apple TV+, Mark Wahlberg will star in the upcoming Apple original action-comedy movie “The Family Plan” reports Deadline.

According to the report, Wahlberg will play the role of a suburban father on a run with his family. While he is busy tending to the needs and comfort of his loved one, he past finds him. Wahlberg will also serve as the producer of the movie.
The Family Plan tells the story of a suburban dad who must take his family on the run when his past catches up to him. Municipal Pictures’ Stephen Levinson and Wahlberg will produce with Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger.
Wahlberg is popular for his Boston accent and for brilliantly playing tough characters with a sarcastic sense of humor. A few major projects led by him are Planet of the Apes (2001), and The Truth About Charlie (2002). Recently, he shoot the “Unchartered” with Tom Holland for Netflix which has earned over $400 million worldwide.
The new movie is written by David Coggeshall and directed by Simon Cellan Jones. “The Family Plan” is produced by Apple and Skydance Media, the two studios already have a multi-year deal to produce a series of animated films and TV series, the rarest and most expensive.
Skydance’s deal with Apple Studio is one of the richest received by any production company in the industry that resembles a “put deal”, a rare Hollywood arrangement in which the distributor is obligated to only release the movies of its partner’s choice. David Ellison, the owner of Skydance Media, is being praised for carving out a beneficial pact for his company which has only been achieved by a few; “Jason Blum’s Blumhouse, Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw, and Arnon Milchan’s New Regency are a few of the players that have commanded similar pacts.”
Other projects from Apple and Skydance include the recently premiered animated movie “Luck” and the upcoming movie “Dallas Sting” starring Matthew McConaughey, “The Greatest Beer Run Ever” starring Russell Crowe and Zac Efron, and “Ghosted” starring Chris Evans and Ana de Armas.
